No hell. For some, how could life get much worse than what it is now?

about a year ago i had an exchange of emails with an elder of a congregation where all my jw relatives attend.
i asked him all kinds of questions regarding blood, 607, shunning, evolution, higher education.
as anticipated, he either had no answer or provided an evasive one.
No hell. For some, how could life get much worse than what it is now?

this is kinda along the lines of my favorite who told the real lie in gen 3.. i was watching the movie 'the bible' the other night (couldn't sleep.
) i was looking at its depiction of cain and thought cain is being pigeoned holed.
now i am not condoning murder and the actions of cains rage.
First...you have to believe that the story in Genesis is about the ONLY humans that lived on the earth at that time. I believe that it does not say that. In fact, Cain's own comment lead the reader to believe that Adam and Eve and their children were NOT the only humans on earth. As it pertains to the story, if Cain killed his brother than he SHOULD be cursed. But, then again, what did his curse REALLY mean? Not much, God didn't kill him. The old eye for an eye and the divine justice didn't apply there now did it? Cain takes his wife, probably from a neighboring group of people and NOT his flesh and blood and goes off to the Land of NOD or the FUGITIVE. Well, the term "Land of" denotes that this was an existing place, now doesn't it? Anyway, I could go on all day. To answer your question simply, if he killed his brother, he got off light.

is it sex?.
simply getting along?.
someone that makes you laugh?.
#1- Trust- If you have trust, then you can talk about what needs to be talked about. The physical aspects of the relationship are good, even if the working parts don't work like they once did.
--buckaroo 14:56, 10 november 2005 (utc) your response to the original post was that this doesn't read like "a fair and unbiased representation of the facts.
do you have a better, more accurate version of the story?
"tommstein 09:04, 14 november 2005 (utc) i don't need to have a, "more accurate version of the story," to tell when an individual's opinion is being presented as fact.
Thank you for posting this Terry....I particularly appreciated the following point that I excerpted from the content you placed.
"If The WTBT has misled and lied about God and his son Christ then all the WTBT followers will be saved because they have been misled, and god knows the true intentions of the heart."
This is typical JW rhetoric for those that disagree. If what is stated is indeed the case, then why make such a fuss over what Franz wrote or the position he took. Additionally, if the intention of the heart is all that matters? why does the JW ORG exist at all? For decades people have been taught that they need to associate with "God's sole channel" to "gain" everlasting life. Doesn't sound much like intention has anything to do with it..

i was just wondering.
say you were baptised and stopped going to the meetings, when the elders and people ask why can you just say you don't want to be a jw anymore without giving a reason?
i mean it's not like they can force it out of you and you aren't necessarily spreading lies or whatever they say apostates do.. if anything they'll have to keep talking to you to find an actual reason to df you so if you're literally as vague as possible then what basis do they have?
If you say it, they will come. OR they will ask you to write it down. OR they will ask you to tell 2 of them in person. OR if they are really lazy, they will simply ask to see if 2 separate people heard you, give you a chance to comment, then they will dispose of you.
It doens't take much...Make sure you are ready if you do say those words.
One thing I have learned, witnesses will spend literally millions of hours looking for people to join the fun, but take miserably little effort in encouraging you to stay. That is what multi-level marketing is about...it's about numbers.
Sorry for your plight,

ok i just thought about this because its been in the back of my mind deep in the subconscious goop where i store many a curious thing:.
what is spirituality to an atheist?
what is its meaning?
Kindness and compassion are my spiritual center. I need no God to be kind or compassionate. In fact, some of the most unkind things I have seen or heard have been from "believers." I think what Jesus said in Luke 17:21, "the kingdom of God is within you and around you" is the most powerful expression he stated. If the kingdom is inside me and inside you then wouldn't it be here...now, "around" us?
As I have mentioned, I have moved to a center of agnosticism. I believe that there are some tremendous lessons to be learned as taught by Jesus, the Buddha, Muhammad, I don't have to believe in God to necessarily benefit from them do I?

anyway, he applied for a lecturer's job at a college last week.
he had a phone call today inviting him for an interview.. i'm kind of in shock.
when we left 10 years ago, i was so upset after.
I don't think it was God at all! I think it was the fact that your husband's resume or curriculum vitae distinguishes him from other candidates and they want to get a closer look. If anything, I would suggest you tell your husband how thankful you are that he has worked so hard and is considered to be the caliber of person that they might want to hire. By doing that, your regard, respect and love for your husband are greatly expanded. It will add to your relationship.
To attribute to God those things that are inherently of Man is to minimize the suffering of a mother that prays for food as her child's belly expands from its want.
Just a thought,

are jws becoming radicalized?.

There are always a few idiots with any group. I would not bundle all JW's into that hate group. Most JW's seem to have a spiritual Asperger-like syndrome, too distant to really even care about people.
...or rather what you wouldn't find in a watchtower .
morals without god (new york times article).
can we envision a world without god?
Yeah, don't recall ever reading this in a JW publication.
"You need God SO you need us" has always been the WT creed.
hello everybody peeps.. i got married out of the troof.
they said it wouldn't last etc.. hasn't been easy.
my hubs is still my best buddy.. and i ain't a jw no more.
Congratulations!!! It is always nice to squelch the naysayers! Nothing like being successful to shut people up!
Sounds like something my nephew told my wife, "You don't have to be a witness to have a happy marriage or be happy!"
